The Global Alliance for the Future of Food and Salzburg Global Seminar are pleased to invite you to the ‘Climate & the Future of Food: Priority Actions for Systems Transformation’ webinar on 17 November, 11:00 AM GMT. As part of the UNFCCC Race to Zero Dialogues, the aim is to connect policymakers and non-state actors from the climate community with food systems leaders and innovators, helping to keep the momentum going on the work on climate change despite the global pandemic.

COVID-19 has reinforced understanding of the interdependence of planetary, animal, and human health by revealing what happens when we break down the natural barriers between us and animal populations.

As momentum builds towards the UN Food Systems Summit and COP26, leaders must embrace systemic solutions to the interlinked food and climate challenges we face and, in doing so, enhance the public and private sector commitments that deliver a healthy, resilient, and equitable recovery for all.

Decisions made in 2021 will shape the future of human, animal, and ecological health, with consequences for social, environmental, and economic justice and sustainability. With a focus on dialogue and transformational change, panelists and respondents in this session will discuss the key issues facing the food and climate communities and explore concrete opportunities for collective action.

Speakers include:
Andrea Carmen, Executive Director, International Indian Treaty Council
André Guimarães, Executive Director of the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM); co-facilitator of Coalizão Brasil Clima Floresta Agricultura
Teresa Anderson, Climate Policy Coordinator, ActionAid International; CLARA member; coordinator of agriculture working group, CAN International
Martin Frick, Deputy to the Special Envoy for the UN Food Systems Summit 2021
Million Belay, Coordinator, Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA)
