Climate smart agriculture (CSA) aims to mitigate and build resilience to climate change while generating sustainable yields. However, not much progress has been made due to farmers’ lack of information and knowledge as well as policies and institutions that favour resource-intensive agriculture over more sustainable farming practices. This brief presents four concrete recommendations for policy and institutional reforms that can help farmers to select appropriate CSA options in developing countries.
