Partnership and Sustainability seem to be an important discourse in National development in our region. Partnership in daily activities is simply implemented as cooperation between parties to achieve certain goals. Humans as social beings interact with each other to encourage the realization of common goals.
In the context of national development, the Government really hopes to create partnerships with various groups in this country. The ethnic complexity in this country has forced the government to learn a lot about forms of partnership that are effective and can be realized in the community.
In implementing partnerships, it is important to encourage synergistic cooperation to create harmonization and lead to joint achievements. It is not easy to create common goals for mutual achievement.
Following are the requirements when Partnership is set in place:
First, the partnership must pay attention to the interests of the parties who partner with us.
Second, the partnership that is built must be voluntary. Willingness to share and live together.
Third, the partnership must respect each other. If the interests of one party are neglected, we must be willing and able to hear their voices.
Fourth, the partnership must create trust between parties. When mutual trust in each other has been formed, it will be easy to realize common goals.
Many events are happening today, that common goals are one of the effective ways to build partnerships. This common goal is usually filled with a sense of shared destiny and a willingness to unite forces by partnering. The importance of partnerships includes creating effective dialogue and coordination in developing a sustainable development framework.
We learn a lot from the experience that Effective Dialogue can be formed with a willingness to communicate. Usually, humans will open communication with each other if there is a similarity of vision and mission. Or have almost similar habits so they can communicate with each other.
Similar Vision and VisionThe similarity of vision and mission usually starts with a shared concern. This concern is due to intensive communication among fellow members and identifying common needs that want to be realized together. Communication will be open if each member feels equal to each other. This openness is the key to intensive communication between parties. Intensive communication is built because there is mutual trust in each other and the habit of expressing opinions and thoughts openly with a high feeling of equality.
Considering the similarity of vision and mission in everyday reality, it can be identified from a common understanding of the problems that occur. Openness between parties occurs because mutual trust on the topic of discussion is a mutual concern. They believe that solution could be developed from the same perspective and mutual concern they already have.
Communication is the most fundamental thing to encourage sustainable partnerships. There are many aspects that need to be shared with fellow partners in order to obtain a common vision and mission.
Communication theory is built with an awareness of mutual respect. In addition, each party opens up to input so that it can be introspective and improve.
However, in many cases when the partnership is developed, cooperative activities cannot take place in the long term. Maybe the changing times have eroded the common goal that the partnership can no longer be maintained.
In some cases, the Government has partnered with civil society and the partnership is going successfully. In another case, the strength of the partnership is decreasing because one of the parties is lacking in leadership. Dealing with civil society must be faced with super patience and it takes time to adjust. The process of internalizing ideas that arise from outside needs to be digested first by the community or local community. The process of digesting this information will affect the people’s habits and behavior and they need time to be able to start implementing the new information in their daily lives.
Especially in our country, the diversity of society and behavior and habits have created diversity and character. So the approach that needs to be taken is specific. This is something the government has not yet been in its mind.
The depletion of trust because one of the parties may violate the collective agreement. If one party has no respect for the other, the strength of the partnership can diminish over time
Some partnership initiatives are built on the understanding and intention to work together to develop and encourage sustainability in the region.
In natural resource management, partnerships with various parties are more than necessary ways to encourage sustainable development. Partnership in sustainable management is an element that must be ensured because Sustainable Development encourages various parties to participate in achieving national development goals.
Cooperation is realized in the form of synergistic activities, providing opportunities for the realization of supportive sustainable development. However, not all sectors can synergize for sustainability. The issue of ways of life and habits has become the biggest challenge in sustainable development.
Partnerships between parties are basically to control themselves in the development process that development is not only to earn profit but also to provide benefits by taking into account many aspects, respecting each other, and doing activities relevant to the common goals being agreed among partners.
Sustainable management requires multi-stakeholder cooperation to create a balance of nature. Therefore the parties must cooperate and respect each other’s interests.
In addition, the form of respect for each party is to try to optimize the economical aspect by also paying attention to the balance of nature and the surrounding environment. It is also avoiding ignorance by encouraging the social aspect to work in balance.
The Forestry Sector seems to be importantly upholding this partnership. Various forms of partnership have been implemented in order to promote effective forestry development. The forestry sector is ranked 3rd after textiles and mining and contributes significantly to the country.
This high potential of the forestry sector needs to be bridged by good handling of the forestry itself. Forest governance has had its ups and downs from time to time. However, the challenges of sustainable management are still in the eyes’ front to provide forest resources for life as sustainably as possible.
The government, for example, encourages the acceleration of Social Forestry in this country and one of the ways is to encourage cooperation between parties in Social Forestry. The government hopes that by providing access to land management and other supporting elements, the community supports government programs in improving people’s welfare.
Partnership in natural resource management includes the Forestry sector refers to careful consideration of the interests of stakeholders.
